A little while ago, I flew up to Portland. I don't get to fly without my
family very often, so I took the opportunity to do a lot of sketching
at the airport. I love all the cool stuff you see at airports. The tarmac is full of vehicles that I have no idea what they're even for--so fun to draw.
Also, I'm in love with the Lamy Safari, a basic but really cool pen.
Sketches are done with fountain pen on color copy paper, in my hand made found-materials sketchbook.

AWESOME sketches, Anthony! I particularly like the old man from the first page and the environment pages later on (the outside of the plane on the tarmac and the inside of the cabin). Sweet sketches.
ReplyDeleteAirports are by far one of the best places to sketch weird people - awesome stuff!
ReplyDeleteLove those trucks. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh man. Much as I love your blog, I ought to stop reading it. I feel too inferior afterwards! SO COOL.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the sketch of the stewardess making sure the overhead bins are shut. The sense of depth is fantastic. Makes me want to travel.
ReplyDeleteSlick stuff! It's so cool how you absorb the whole experience through your sketchbook. It doesn't just feel like drawing practice, it tells a story
ReplyDeleteLost for words.
ReplyDeleteThat last image is really terrific....
very very good.
ReplyDeletewow wow wow, this is great!!
ReplyDeleteamazing dude, i am flying tomorrow so will attempt to do the same.
ReplyDeleteI love those little cars on the tarmac all doing their own little jobs. The worst is when you see the luggage carrying cart driving along and you literally see your bag fall out and then the dude at the other end of the cart grabbing it, letting it scrape on the tarmac then flinging it back into the pile ...uugh -_- awesome post as always!
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
