I know that you keep sending me those emails. You can stop now.
I've finally given in--or rather my lovely wife, Allison has given in.
She started a Sawyer blog, and you can see it HERE. There will be many pictures and videos to come, I'm sure. And while I understand a large reason this site has any draw at all is because I'm Sawyer's dad, I humbly request that you continue visiting even though all the photos and videos will be posted ELSEWHERE.
Thanks, and have a cute time.
PS, internet, you can also stop sending me your Nigerian deposed royalty money laundering scams. I've told you this before and it's still true--I don't have any money. And if I did, it would already be spent on something chocolaty.
Yours truly,
Me

More Comics!
Sorry it's been so long between comics--I've been busy with work; and anyone that has experienced the freelance art lifestyle knows that having too much work is definitely a good thing (in certain respects). I haven't been posting a ton of finished personal projects lately (just sketches), mostly because I've been pouring all of my efforts into freelance illustration and storyboarding (like I said, it could be worse). Anyway, here are some comics about the adventures we've been having lately--enjoy!

Presents!!
So it's been a little while since I've updated, but not because I haven't been busy making more drawrings. I've been doing that, and I've been taking care of that cute baby and doing some freelance storyboarding at a couple of different places on a couple of different projects.
In other news, today is Allison's birthday! Hooray! We are just hanging out at home today, and her freshman year college roommate, Laurie, came to visit. Since it was Laurie's birthday a month and a half ago, we're just having a birthday bonanza.
Anyway, here are a couple of things I've been working on. I've been trying out gouache lately (with mixed results), and it's been a lot of fun.
Here's a snapshot of my little studio space in our apartment:
And here's Lauries cowboy, Big Tex (pre-framing). If I've learned anything from this experience it is this: if all else fails, fill in the background with giant cucumbers and call them cacti.
I painted this teeny thing for Allison, so she can think fondly of her little monkeys when she's at work and we're at home playing. It's a little smaller than 4.5" square.
I dunno why it's so fun to paint small but it is.
More sketches to come soon, when I get a sec away from work!

Sick Day
Okay, so I was sick this morning. So sick that I didn't go to school--and not "sick" like when I didn't want to go to elementary school (or high school, for that matter). This was real sick--like, "I skipped out on my figure drawing class" sick. But being stuck at home doesn't mean I can't have a sketch adventure, it just means I got to spend all day with my cute baby and beautiful wife, which made an otherwise rotten day pretty great!
