Some more explorations into character development and design for our senior animation project at BYU. The film's in an interesting place right now, since our story crew hasn't nailed down character personalities--which ends up being fun for me, because that means I'm free to do designs all over the place, but it's not exactly great for meeting deadlines. Luckily we're only in the beginning stages.
Right now, we know there's a girl and a rhino...and that's about it.
Anyway, let me know what you think about what you see!

I'm expecting the Black girl with the glasses & Walkman to be an interesting & complex character, capable of having two or more feelings or objectives at once. Also the Rhino who's rammed a vehicle and who's now walking around with an airbag impaled on his horn (that's funny!).
I like the girl with the apple and the blond one with the tie best.
Anthony, these are brilliant. I love the one with the purple sweater and the one with the yellow coat. Excellent!
Jake - your female version of Lupan III is ROCKIN - that's your character, as far as I'm concerned. She's great. The yellow (rain?)coat would be a quick and easy way to get her to stand out in any composition. Unless you have a scene in a sunflower field.
Maybe a different haricut though, something less adult?
Rad!
woops, i meant Anthony!
oh and the bottom-right rhino on the first rhino page is a keeper. very simple, and unique. he looks just a bit wimpy- which is good, coz a little girl has to save him, right?

I'd like to see a young rhino with floaties around his arms... or legs I guess.
Anthony these rock. Each little girl has her own strong personality and character. I am speechless (except for the stuff I just said).
GREAT VARIATIONS, THOSE RHINOS ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL..!
Wow, Anthony, I love your rhinos--especially the running sketches. So cool. Nice weight and fluidity.
The girl in the 2nd image in the middle with the yellow and the girl on the 4th image on the right look similar to the Coraline Character. I like them all, they are great!
